Cucine LUBE Civitanova - Champions of Italy for the fifth time

Cucine LUBE Civitanova are Champions of Italy.

The team coached by Ferdinando De Giorgi and owned by Cucine LUBE, won the Credem Banca Superlega playoff final yesterday, beating Sir Safety Conad 3-2 at the Pala Barton Perugia.

The season closes with the team’s fifth championship trophy in its history, after those won in 2006, 2012, 2014 and 2017.

An epic undertaking that led the team to raise the trophy after seven consecutive losing finals and on Saturday they will go on court in Berlin to face the Russians from Kazan in the final of the Champions League, attempting to make this great season an even greater and more glorious one.

“A fantastic victory,” said the President Simona Sileoni, “seeing how the match was going and how we had played here in Perugia in the past. It was an exceptional match: the boys put their heart into the match, although they were 2-nil down, and managed to pull it back and win a really great victory. An enormous joy for the owners, sponsors and all the fans: a victory won by everyone, and even more so when the result came in this way.”

The team patron and CEO of Cucine LUBE, Fabio Giulianelli, was also there and celebrated the victory together with the players.

“An historic championship success seeing the way the match was going, and for all that went into this conquest,” commented Giulianelli, “You can’t win the championship if you don’t actually deserve to. We built a team to take that little step forward and achieve what we failed to achieve last year.”

Another achievement that reconfirms Cucine LUBE as an Italian excellence in kitchens and in sport.
